InterServer Pricing 2026
A practical look at the advertised entry price, expected renewal cost, billing commitment, included features, and the numbers worth checking before you buy.
What InterServer really costs
The recorded InterServer offer lists an entry price of $2.50/mo (recorded offer: Standard monthly offer: $2.50 first month, then $7/month). The recorded renewal rate is $7.00/mo, so the post-promotion budget matters as much as the launch price.
Our best-fit view: Budget websites with email and a clearly specified renewal price.
Introductory price vs. renewal price
The monthly equivalent is not the first payment. Check the final charge and add-ons in our renewal calculator.

What should you budget for InterServer?
For standard hosting, budget around the renewal rate, not the introductory monthly equivalent. The separate Price Lock offer deserves its own comparison: its eligibility and terms do not automatically apply to standard hosting, VPS products, domains, or upgrades.
For a small website owner, the practical decision is how much cash to commit now and whether the chosen plan will still suit the site after the promotion ends. Read our InterServer review for the broader assessment of plan fit.
Standard hosting: first payment versus renewal
| Billing term | Introductory payment | Renewal payment |
|---|---|---|
| 1 month | $2.50 | $7 |
| 6 months | $15 | $42 |
| 12 months | $30 | $84 |
| 24 months | $60 | $168 |
These are the standard hosting offer’s advertised billing amounts, before taxes and extras. A longer introductory term keeps the promotional rate longer, but requires more upfront cash. It does not remove the renewal increase.
Illustrative three-year hosting costs
The following calculations assume the displayed offer remains applicable, renewals occur at the stated rate, and the customer stays on the same product. They exclude domains, tax, add-ons and upgrades. They are budgeting examples, not guaranteed future invoices.
- Monthly billing: $2.50 + (35 × $7) = $247.50.
- Annual billing: $30 + $84 + $84 = $198.
- Two-year introductory term, then one annual renewal: $60 + $84 = $144, assuming annual renewal is available when the first term ends.
The annual example rises from $30 to $84 at the first renewal: an increase of $54, or 180%. Set a renewal reminder when you buy. If you need to preserve cash or are still validating the website, paying more over time may be preferable to making a larger commitment today.
The separate $5 Price Lock offer
InterServer also advertises a separate $5-per-month Price Lock campaign for eligible accounts remaining on that plan. Its exclusions include domains, add-ons, taxes, upgrades and other services. At an unchanged $5 rate, hosting alone would cost $60 over 12 months or $180 over 36 months.
This creates a useful tradeoff. In the examples above, the standard annual offer costs $198 over three years, compared with $180 at a constant $5 monthly rate. A longer introductory term could change that result. Compare the exact product and contract, rather than treating “Price Lock” as a promise covering every InterServer purchase.
What can make the total higher?
- Domain ownership: compare registration, renewal, privacy and transfer costs separately.
- Software and licenses: identify paid themes, plugins and any control-panel requirement before choosing a product.
- Recovery needs: decide whether the included backup workflow meets your recovery targets or requires an independent backup service.
- Growth: a site that outgrows shared hosting may need a different product, making the old pricing comparison irrelevant.
- Migration: allow time to verify the website, DNS and email after moving, even when assistance is offered.
Which billing choice makes sense?
Choose monthly billing when flexibility is more valuable than the largest introductory saving. It gives you a smaller initial commitment while you establish whether the product fits your workload.
Consider annual or longer billing when the website is established, you have checked cancellation terms, and the upfront payment fits your budget. A cheap monthly equivalent is useful only if you actually want the full prepaid term.
Investigate Price Lock when predictable ongoing hosting costs matter most. Save the offer and verify eligibility in writing before paying. Confirm what happens if you change plans.

Frequently asked questions
Does standard InterServer hosting renew at the introductory rate?
No. The displayed standard offer distinguishes the introductory payment from the higher renewal payment. Price Lock is a separate offer with its own conditions.
Is the cheapest three-year example always the best choice?
No. It assumes the product remains suitable and the renewal term is available. Flexibility, recovery tools, resource limits and the cost of moving again can outweigh a small billing saving.

- Billing period: Confirm how much is charged today, not only the monthly equivalent.
- Renewal date: Note when the promotional term ends and the standard rate begins.

- Refund rules: Read exclusions for domains, setup fees, monthly plans, and upgrades.
Is InterServer good value?
The entry rate can be attractive, but value depends on the required commitment, the renewal step-up, and whether you will actually use the included features. Compare the full-term cost with the alternatives before deciding.
