Hatchling is a one-site starting point
HostGator presents Hatchling as its entry shared-hosting plan for a single website. Its plan card advertises a promotional price, while the regular charge applies after the chosen introductory billing period. HostGator’s Baby plan is a different product and currently supports up to 20 websites; do not assume that allowance comes with Hatchling. A single busy site can still outgrow shared resource limits, so site count alone is not a performance test.
Record the actual first and second invoice
Our research snapshot lists an entry rate around $3.75 per month, but the amount due today depends on the term selected, active promotion and checkout cart. HostGator says the introductory discount covers the initial term and the plan automatically renews at the regular rate. Before buying, write down the full upfront hosting charge, renewal amount, renewal billing interval, tax and any extras. Comparing a three-year HostGator promotion with a competitor’s one-year price without multiplying the full term obscures the commitment.
Watch optional email after its trial
HostGator’s current web-hosting page offers a Professional Email free trial as an optional item. Its disclosed terms say the one-month trial renews at the regular email price if selected and not canceled; check that rate and whether you actually need the add-on before completing the cart. Similarly, a free first-year domain has a separate later renewal and may affect a refund. You can use an existing domain without transferring its registration to HostGator.

HostGator advertises a money-back period on eligible hosting purchases, but domains, add-ons and certain payment methods may be treated differently. Verify the current policy for your plan and term.
